Grooming Procedures

Health and Behavior of pets: 

   We do not brush out mats as it is painful for the dog and inhumane.  All matting will have to be shaved!  If a dog is severely matted there will be a fee added to the final cost of the groom.

   When scheduling an appointment, we ask that owners disclose all issues a pet has had previously when going to the vet or being groomed (aggressive tendencies, health conditions)

  Disclosing that a pet may have aggressive tendencies does not mean automatic refusal of the groom.  This allows the groomer to be mindful of the pet's needs and behaviors so we can avoid the groomer being bit or injury to the pet (if the pet were to move suddenly during the session).

 We are willing to help rehabilitate dogs and show them how safe and relaxing grooming can be.  Dogs who are fearful or have aggressive tendencies MUST be on a regular schedule. Groomers will discuss scheduling options with pet parents, pets with behavior issues are recommended to be groomed every 4-6 weeks.

We can not rehabilitate a dog who we can not create a relationship with; it is crucial for these types of dogs to be on a regular schedule.

Dogs with behavior issues who do not stay on their regular schedule discussed with the groomer will no longer be seen for grooming.

   We are committed to providing safe and humane care to all pets. We reserve the right to refuse service to a dog who is overly stressed, reactive, or fearful as it presents a threat to the emotional well-being of the pet. Purely Paws Spa has the right to refuse service to animals who are overly aggressive or have health issues that require a veterinarian as it is a threat to their physical well-being.  Any issues (health or behavior) not disclosed to the groomer by the owner or un-known by the owner may result in termination of the grooming session at the owner's expense.

Liability and Safety:

  We are committed to providing the best care while grooming your pet. However, it is possible for pets to receive minor injuries as a result of being groomed (i.e razor burn, minor cuts or scratches). If your pet sustains injuries from the grooming that we are not aware of, you MUST notify us within 24-48 hours.

  All pets scheduled for grooming services must be up to date on Rabies vaccines. Written proof is required before all appointments.

Cancellation Policy

    If you need to cancel your appointment, give us a minimum of 24 hours notice. If you cancel within 24 hours of your appointment or do not show for your appointment, a flat rate fee of $30 per dog will be required before setting up that dog(s) next appointment. 

Drop off/Pick up Policies

   Dogs are expected to be on time for their appointments. If a dog is not checked in by 15 minutes after their appointment time, they will be marked as a no-show absence, owners will be required to pay a 30 dollar fee (per dog) prior to rescheduling their appointment. Approximate pickup times will be discussed at drop off. 

   Once a dog is ready, the owner will be given a call.

 Dogs must be picked up within 30 minutes of this phone call, unless previously discussed.

  For every half hour past the first half hour of the phone call, if the dog is still not picked up, a $10 boarding fee will be added to the cost of the groom. We close every day at 5pm.  Any dog who is not picked up past 5pm will have $30 for every half hour they are not picked up added to the final cost of the groom.

Pricing and Payment 

  Prices vary based on the condition of a dog's coat, their behavior, and their size. 

All dogs are base priced by weight.  This way we can ensure we are pricing our grooms fairly and consistently.  Dogs who are severely matted, have fleas, require special care, or extra time will have an additional fees added to the final cost of the groom. This compensates our groomers for their work. If your dog needs special care please notify us when you are making your appointment.

  If your dog has been groomed previously and grows significantly in size or weight, the groom will be priced accordingly.
